Corporate ResponsibilityWe at the HappyWares Company believe that it is a moral imperative to act in the best interest of our employees, vendors, and customers, and to do so in a way that works well in the environment and community. Therefore, when we launched our first product, the EZcarry, we engineered it to be made of recycled plastic.
Since the debut of the EZcarry, we have used many tons of plastic from recycled sources of polycarbonate resin. This ensures that we don't needlessly use scarcer "virgin" plastics, whose production puts a bigger burden on the environment, when the end quality of the product would be the same, and we feel good about that.
As a responsible corporate citizen, we look for ways to do what we need to do, and involve the community for a win-win situation. Therefore, we are very proud of our partnership with the Achievement Rehabilitation Center of Broward County. ARC Broward is a private, not-for-profit organization providing support and assistance to children and adults with mental retardation, autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental disabilities. Incorporated in 1956, ARC Broward provides a continuum of supports to over 1000 people with disabilities and employs over 450 health-care, educational, and other professionals. By having a partnership with ARC Broward, HappyWares is providing income, opportunity and hope to these individuals. We feel this is the right thing to do for some of the citizens in our own community.
Additionally, The HappyWares has provided support for the Silcock Family, which is a home for orphaned boys that had nowhere to go. The Silcock family is in essence a mom with a dream, a dad who is quadriplegic and has a love big enough to make his wife's dream his own. Together, they have adopted thirty-seven children, and they need a lot of help. They love using their EZcarrys, and it gives the children a chance to help when they shop for food!
We encourage all of our partners to think of ways they can be responsible in the areas where they work and serve, and we challenge people everywhere to always be environmentally conscious.
